HELLO MOREHOUSE COUNCIL ON AGING, INC.,

Dr. Karen Kinsell is the only doctor in all of Clay County, Georgia, one of the poorest and unhealthiest rural regions in the state. Her clinic has served the most vulnerable in her community for over 22 years, but now faces bankruptcy. Despite not drawing a personal salary, Kinsell must now weigh retiring against serving her patients. When a Hail Mary offer arrives from a medical university, a fully equipped health center is proposed. But Kinsell makes affordability and access her personal red lines of the potential sale. An impending state election and the outbreak of COVID add more uncertainty, reminding Kinsell of how much is riding on the fine print. Straight-talking and downright inspirational, THE ONLY DOCTOR presents a modern David-versus-Goliath healthcare story that might just restore your faith in humanity. We hope you will bring this film to Morehouse Council on Aging, Inc.!

The organizers of the Chemin-A-Haut Trail Run and Walk (MITA) wanted the 2023 Trail Run and Walk participants and the former Trail Run and Walk participants to know that the photos from the 2023 Trail Run and Walk have now been uploaded to the runsignup.com website.  Amber Fife of Southern Sass Photography shared her photos with us.  Amber did an outstanding job of capturing the Trail Run and Walk.  Plus we had some others that we uploaded too. Marion,

Open Enrollment is your chance to review and compare your current Medicare coverage with other plan options for 2023!

Even if you're happy with your current plan, it's important to check for any changes next year, and compare with other available plan options. You may even find plans that save you money! Now's the time to explore your options and find the best fit for your needs and budget.

Compare Plans

Create or log in to your Medicare account and add your prescription drugs — to get more personalized recommendations. Drug costs can vary based on the pharmacy you use, so we'll help you easily find pharmacies in your area.

Important: If your income for 2022 is below $18,600 ($25,000 for married couples), you may be able to save on your monthly Medicare premiums and other out-of-pocket Medicare costs, including prescription drug costs. See if you qualify for Medicare Savings Programs and learn how to apply.

Sincerely,

The Medicare Team
